Handmade Pasta

Fresh pasta made by hand each morning, the way it has always been done in Italy — in the heart of Santa Rosa’s wine country.
At Capriciano, pasta is far more than a side or a starting point — it is the soul of the Italian table. As an authentic Italian restaurant in Santa Rosa, our chefs roll, cut, and shape pasta fresh in our kitchen each morning, using semolina-rich doughs and traditional Italian techniques. From classic Lasagna to lemon-cream Ravioli, every plate is built to be lingered over, shared around the table, and paired with a glass from our Italian and California wine list.

What Makes Our Pasta Special?

The Italian Tradition
Pasta has nourished Italian families for centuries — humble in its ingredients, infinite in its possibilities. At our Santa Rosa osteria, we honor this tradition by making our dough fresh in our kitchen each day, never frozen and never bought in. Each shape is matched to the sauce it was meant to carry: penne rigate to hold a bright pomodoro, rigatoni for a rich Wagyu Bolognese, sheets layered into a proper Sunday lasagna. The result is pasta the way Italians have always known it — unhurried, deeply flavored, and made to be shared.
Highlights From the Pasta Menu
Is Pasta Right for Your Evening?
Our pasta pairs beautifully with:
Whether you are after the comfort of a Sunday lasagna, the elegance of a lemon-cream ravioli, or the bold spice of a Wagyu Bolognese, our handmade pasta meets you where you are. Every plate is rooted in Italian tradition and served in the heart of Santa Rosa’s wine country.
What to Expect at Your Table
Our pasta arrives as you would expect at a proper Italian osteria — perfectly al dente, beautifully plated, and sized for the whole table. Sauces come to the table as they should: simmered with care, never rushed, balanced by the fresh herbs and finishing oils that make each dish complete. Your server is always nearby to recommend a wine pairing from our Italian and California list, or flag the evening’s specials. No rush, no shortcuts — just the pleasure of a table done right.
Why Choose Our Pasta?
Made Fresh Every Morning

Our pasta dough is prepared by hand each morning before service — never frozen, never shipped in. The result is texture and flavor you can only get when pasta is made the way it has been made in Italy: slowly, carefully, and with care.

Authentic Italian Tradition

From Sicilian chili to San Marzano tomatoes, from Wagyu Bolognese to handmade ravioli, our menu honors generations of Italian cooking. Every plate is sized for sharing and pairs naturally with a glass from our Italian and California wine list.

What Our Clients Say About Us

Took my husband here for our anniversary. Sat on the Al Fresco Terrace, ordered the Capriciano Graze Platter and the Sicilian Sea Bass, and somehow stretched dinner into a four-hour evening. Could not have asked for a better night in wine country.

Best wood-fired pizza in Sonoma County, full stop. The Margherita is what a Margherita should be — three ingredients, perfect dough, lightly charred. The Pizza Capriciano is more adventurous and worth the order. Crust comes out of the firewood oven in under three minutes.

Walked in not knowing what to expect, walked out understanding what people mean by “real Italian hospitality.” Our server walked us through the wine list, recommended the Rigatoni Mezzi with Wagyu Bolognese, and never made us feel rushed. Capriciano is going to be a regular.

I’m from Brooklyn, and I’ve been chasing the right Italian dinner since I moved to California. Finally found it. The Lasagna is layered the way my grandmother layered it, the Bolognese tastes like Sunday, and the bread is actually warm. Take that as the highest praise I can give.

As someone who works in the local wine industry, I’m picky about lists. Capriciano’s is one of the most thoughtfully built I’ve seen in Santa Rosa — Sicilian whites you can’t find everywhere, a beautiful Etna Bianco, a proper Vin Santo flight. Our server paired every single course.
