Birre

Birre with an Italian heart — Italian imports and Bay Area bottles, served in the heart of Santa Rosa’s wine country.
Wine country may be famous for its bottles, but at Capriciano we believe a great Italian meal can also begin with a great beer. Our list pours Italian imports from Piedmont and Biella alongside the best of Bay Area craft brewing — including Sonoma County’s own HenHouse from Petaluma. Whether you are after a crisp lager to wash down a pizza or a citrusy West Coast IPA to cut through a rich pasta, we have a glass for you.

What Makes Our Beer List Special?

Italian Imports & Bay Area Bottles
Italy has been making beer almost as long as it has been making wine, and the country’s modern craft scene is one of the most exciting in Europe. We pour the classics — Menabrea Bionda, from one of Italy’s oldest still-operating breweries, and Baladin Nazionale, a Piedmont craft ale brewed with traditional Italian ingredients. Alongside them, we feature the best of Northern California craft: HenHouse from Petaluma, Drakes from San Leandro, Altamont from Livermore, and the Italian-style Sfizio Pilsner from Fort Point Brewing in San Francisco. Two countries, one list, one perfectly chilled glass for whatever you are eating.
Highlights From Our Beer List
Is Beer Right for Your Evening?
Our beer pairs beautifully with:
Whether you are after the historic crispness of a Menabrea, the curious malt of a Baladin, or the citrusy snap of a California West Coast IPA, our beer list is built to meet you where you are. Wine country, yes — but a great glass of beer always has a seat at the Capriciano table.
What to Expect at Your Table
Beer at our Santa Rosa osteria is served the way it should be — properly chilled, in the right glass, by a server who is happy to recommend a pour based on what you are eating. Pair a Sfizio with our Margherita, a Best Life with a casual lunch, or a Maui Waui with the spice of our Rigatoni Mezzi. Your server is always nearby to help. No rush, no shortcuts — just a great beer with great food.
Why Choose Our Beer List?
From Italy and Our Own Backyard

Our list pours two of Italy’s most respected breweries — Menabrea from Biella and Baladin from Piedmont — alongside the best of Northern California craft. HenHouse from Petaluma is brewed less than an hour from our door, and we are proud to pour it.

Built for Italian Food

Beer and Italian food are old friends. A crisp pilsner cuts through the richness of a wood-fired pizza; a hoppy IPA balances the spice of Calabrian chili; a malty craft ale matches a slow-braised ragù perfectly. Tell us what you are eating; we will pour the right glass.

What Our Clients Say About Us

Took my husband here for our anniversary. Sat on the Al Fresco Terrace, ordered the Capriciano Graze Platter and the Sicilian Sea Bass, and somehow stretched dinner into a four-hour evening. Could not have asked for a better night in wine country.

Best wood-fired pizza in Sonoma County, full stop. The Margherita is what a Margherita should be — three ingredients, perfect dough, lightly charred. The Pizza Capriciano is more adventurous and worth the order. Crust comes out of the firewood oven in under three minutes.

Walked in not knowing what to expect, walked out understanding what people mean by “real Italian hospitality.” Our server walked us through the wine list, recommended the Rigatoni Mezzi with Wagyu Bolognese, and never made us feel rushed. Capriciano is going to be a regular.

I’m from Brooklyn, and I’ve been chasing the right Italian dinner since I moved to California. Finally found it. The Lasagna is layered the way my grandmother layered it, the Bolognese tastes like Sunday, and the bread is actually warm. Take that as the highest praise I can give.

As someone who works in the local wine industry, I’m picky about lists. Capriciano’s is one of the most thoughtfully built I’ve seen in Santa Rosa — Sicilian whites you can’t find everywhere, a beautiful Etna Bianco, a proper Vin Santo flight. Our server paired every single course.
